Raw materials like stainless steel and aluminum sheet are cut, formed and welded at our studio in Queens, NY. From start to finish, machined assemblies and polished finishes are created by hand. The images are animated frame by frame, printed, then die-cut from paper sheets in the studio.
With milling, turning, shearing, forming and cnc facilities, as well as silk screen and other printmaking equipment, the studio hums at the intersection of Brooklyn and Queens across from a Dutch farm built in 1719.
Plastic: A concerted effort is made to avoid the use of plastic in the work and in the studio, replacing it with metal, glass or wood. Alternatives to plastic are thought-out as its use is phased out.
